Located on the coast eight miles southeast of Seal Beach. The town was first known as "Pacific City" but the name was changed to Huntington Beach in 1904. There are no fishery facilities and commercial fish are not handled here. In 1945 a few pounds were recorded (mostly albacore) but this should have been credited elsewhere. It is a well known sport fishing town with a large fishing pier and an anchored barge offshore. In 1952 there were three sport fishing day boats operating out of the town. Huntington Beach State Park consists of 105 acres. |
