Reserving a boat for a fishing outing for just your group, whether they total one person or six people (the maximum that our largest boat can carry). Accommodating all size groups, private fishing boat charters are popular for groups such as companies, churches, clubs, and families. A private fishing boat charter guarantees that you and just your group have the entire boat for the selected length of your trip.
The captain and crew are there to service your needs exclusivley. And ultimately you can choose the destination/species of fish that you would like to pursue. We always recommend that you consult with the captain as it is his occupation to know where to fish and what species will provide the best opportunities for you and your group. A private fishing boat charter may also be know by such terms as a private charter boat sportfishing trip, deep sea fishing boat rental, or private group saltwater ocean fishing charter trip. Although there are a number of different names describing a private fishing boat charter the meaning is the same.
Groups that take private fishing charters with Spirit Sportfishing come from throughout Southern California including Orange County, Los Angeles, and the greater Inland Empire. Additionally quite a number of private fishing charters are from other states including Nevada and Arizona. Spirit Sportfishing has also had many international private charters from such countries as the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, and Germany.
Spirit Sportfishing offers a large selection of trip types and lengths with ½ day private charters fishing areas from Long Beach to Dana Point including the productive waters off of Laguna Beach and Huntington Beach.
Private ¾ day charters c similar to the ½ day destinations, but with almost double the fishing time. The ¾ day fishing trip also will commonly fish Catalina Island and has the ability to travel costal waters from Oceanside to Marina Del Rey. Extended ¾ day trips offer an additional 2 hours of valuable travel/fishing time. If the added hours fit within your charter's schedule, we highly recommend it.
Overnight private fishing charters, fish Catalina Island on occasion, but mostly target San Clemente Island and offshore destinations. 1 ½ day trips and 2 day trips have the ability to fish such destinations as Santa Barbara Island, and the legendary Cortez and Tanner banks, along with the ability to fish remote areas of San Clemente Island. Overnight to 2 day private charters are structured to target the largest of our game fish species including Yellowtail, Albacore Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado, and White Sea Bass. Usually while targeting these larger species, other species including Halibut, Calico Bass, Barracuda, Bonito, Sheephead, Red Snapper, and over two dozen other species are caught in large numbers. In short you can expect lots of action with a huge array of fish species and a likely opportunity to land the fish(s) of a life time.
Overnight private charters require that you and your group sleep on the boat you select. We have the Amigo and the Aggressor that are specially geared to fish overnight to 2 day trip lengths. Cameras are a must as the scenery is as breathtaking as the fishing.
